An overflowing crowd of thousands were on hand at CVHS for this much hyped game. Football in South Orange County was never as popular as it was during this time. Paul J. Mission Viejo Diablos vs Capistrano Valley Cougars 1987 Classic
The Mission Viejo Diablos and the Capistrano Valley Cougars squared off in 1987 for the South Coast League Championship. Todd Marinovich breaks the all time high school passing record but Mission Viejo upsets the Cougars in front of 7000 fans at Capistrano Valley High School. Jeff Pease of Mission Viejo led the Diablo defense in this thriller of a game. No doubt, 1987 was one of the best years in South Orange County Football history. Over-flowing crowds were the norm in 1987 and the competition on the field was just incredible. Enjoy this AIM Sports TV Classic!
